WORKSHOPS

My Workshop Practice

I conduct workshops that bring together cinema studies, cultural analysis, and critical writing. Designed for students, researchers, writers, and cultural practitioners, my sessions focus on developing the analytical tools needed to read films, sound, and visual culture within their broader social and political contexts.

Themes & Focus Areas

In my sessions, I explore a range of interdisciplinary themes, including:

  • Cinema and Conflict: Analyzing how visual media navigates and represents political tension
  • Sound and Memory: Understanding the auditory dimension of our cultural history.
  • Interdisciplinary Research: Bridging academic scholarship with public-facing practice.

Critical & Personal Essays:

Moving beyond standard reviews to find a unique voice. I often focus on the intersection of the personal and the political, much like my workshop in Europe, “Words on our silences,” where we explored how to articulate the things often left unsaid in cultural discourse.

My approach encourages close reading, critical discussion, and thoughtful engagement with both texts and images. I aim to create a space where participants can sharpen their observations and turn them into meaningful, resonant writing.

Format & Structure:

I structure my workshops to suit the specific needs of academic institutions, cultural organizations, and independent learning spaces. These can be delivered in various formats:

  • Lectures: Focused, deep-dive presentations
  • Multi-session Seminars: Intensive, long-form study.
  • Interactive Workshops: Discussion-based formats centered on writing and peer feedback.
