Niyati Bhat a PhD Candidate in Cinema Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, one of India’s leading institutions for research in the humanities and social sciences. Her doctoral work focuses on cinema, music, and visual culture in South Asian conflict regions, with particular attention to Kashmir and post-conflict Sri Lanka.
Her academic training is grounded in interdisciplinary approaches to film studies, cultural history, and media theory, shaping her broader engagement with cinema, sound, and political imagination.
